Word of Lithuania Field Hockey Federation president
Dear hockey friends,
I’m particularly
pleased to welcome EuroHockey Youth U-16 (Girls) Championship (II) players,
coaches, umpires and officials from Austria, Croatia, Ukraine, Belarus and
Lithuania who had arrive to Vilnius – the capital of Lithuania.
We are very
proud that Vilnius in 2005 had become a hockey town and joined the ranks of
European capitals which have an international requirements synthetical pitch
stadium situated at the Zemyna gymnasium in the cozy northern capital
neighborhood Seskine.
In capital city
hockey is played over 28 years and here already were held EuroHockey Junior
U-21 (Women) championship and EuroHockey Club Challenge IV (Men).
This
championship for many young hockey players will be the first in a long and
beautiful sporting career. I hope that the sets of medals shared in Vilnius
will always remind first and important try-out. Let these medals to become
first in the collection and perhaps the Olympic awards once will append them.
Sincere thanks
to Vilnius city municipality, Department of Physical Education and Sports,
members of HC “Zuvedra”, collective of Zemyna gymnasium, sponsors and friends
without whose support and sincere assistance this sport event wouldn’t be held.
May success wait
upon you!
Leonardas
Caikauskas

Lithuanian hockey federation
Executive Board
member of European hockey federation
President of
